Global Virtues Week

Thank you to the families that supported our Global Virtues Week. We are very proud of the kind deeds that the children did to support members of the community less fortunate than ourselves, such as the Sponsored Bounce they undertook to raise money for the NSPCC and baking jam tarts to sell at our cake sale on Red Nose Day. The children also showed interest and enthusiasm when finding ways to improve our environment, for example by planting flowers or collecting litter. Well done, EYFS!

Visit to Rugby Library

The EYFS children enjoyed taking part in a range of play experiences that had been set up by Rugby Library as part of their Peter Rabbit Mischief and Mayhem session. After their play activities, the children were helped by library staff to plant seeds and to make a healthy rabbit themed snack. Thank you to the library staff for a wonderful learning experience for the children of Rokeby and to Brooke School for their minibus to transport the children.

EYFS Maths Breakfast

It was wonderful to have so many families join us for the recent EYFS Maths Breakfast. We hope that you found it interesting taking part in the maths games and activities that were on offer during the session. We also hope that it helped to give you a clearer understanding of some of the things that the children have been learning. We are proud of how hard the EYFS children are working on their maths skills.

Father Christmas comes to Rokeby!

Thank you Father Christmas for taking time out of your busy schedule to come and see the F1 and F2 children! The children all enjoyed seeing you and listened carefully to what you had to say. The F2 children enjoyed telling you what gifts they are hoping to receive and what treats they will be leaving out for you and the reindeers. Fingers crossed that the children get some of the presents they are hoping for!

World Nursery Rhyme Week

Thank you to the families that joined us to help celebrate World Nursery Rhyme Week by attending our Nursery Rhyme Breakfast. We hope that you found it useful to hear about what the children have been learning and that it has inspired you to share lots of rhymes with your children.

Visit by Coventry Blaze Ice Hockey Players

Thank you also to the three members of Coventry Blaze Ice Hockey team, Dillon, Luke and Trey who gave up their time to come and read nursery rhymes to the children. It was great to see the children's enjoyment as they joined in singing and performing actions with the players. We hope that the children have enjoyed sharing their Book Trust packs with you. Dillon, Luke and Trey kindly presented the packs to our Reception children. Nursery children have their packs to look forward to next year.

Forthcoming events

Book Afternoon

There will be book related activities for families to take part in with their children. These will include storytelling, puppet making, construction and crafts. We would like all children to be able to share these activities with a familiar adult so we welcome parents, carers, grandparents or another family member to join us.
