We have read the rest of Clockwork, and we found out what happened. Karl put the clockwork baby on the clock. Sir Ironsoul (a clockwork night) he stabbed Karl with his sword.
In English, we have wrote a big write about a snow storm and we also we had to draw a picture of Dr Kalmenius , Gretl or Karl and wrote facts around them.
We wrote a poem about Christmas and then we wrote it on the laptops. It will go in Christmas cards to our family’s.

In year 5 this half term we have been learning about the following things.
In science we have been learning about space. We have been looking at each planet. Also the moon and the sun. We have learnt what they are made of and named after. The planets go in the following order. Mercury, Venus, Earth, mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus then Neptune.
Enough for Everyone
Our topic is Enough for Everyone. We have learnt that electricity is made by nuclear power stations. We can also get it from wind turbines and solar panels.
In maths we have done perimeter of compound and irregular shapes, area on irregular shapes and fractions of a whole number. We had to do a maze of fractions and we needed to get to the end. we also needed to find equivalent fractions and compare to see which was the biggest.
We have been reading Clockwork or all wound up. This is by Philip Pullman. The book is about a Clockwork doll. In the book Mariposa and prince Otto got married. They want a child and gets one but it dies. Otto takes it to Dr Kalmenius. He then makes a clockwork baby. We had to do a comic strip on part two. We also had to write what we thought would happen next.
Every 3 weeks we go to the library to get out 1-10 books and we can read them in class and at home. We walk there in the afternoon, and come back about half two. We get back at quarter to three. We have a great time there and if we need help you can just ask a staff member.
